Rivers United announces signing of 11 new players ahead of 2025/26 NPFL Season

Rivers United Football Club has officially confirmed the addition of 11 new players to its squad in preparation for the upcoming 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Pride of Rivers have strengthened across all areas of the pitch, with the new arrivals set to bolster the team’s title ambitions both domestically and on the continent.

New Signings:

Ani Ozoemena – from Enyimba FC

Noble John – from Tabora United FC (Tanzania)

Nsi Effimi – from Rangers International

Ogbu Ogechukwu – from Sunshine Stars

Rivio Ayemwenre – from Ikorodu City

Anthony Chukwudi Omaka – from Heartland FC

Maclyn Biokpo – from Godswill Akpabio Academy

Seyi Oguntayo – from Akwa United

Chinedu Kelvin Sunday – from Kun Khalifat

Wasiu Falolu – from Crown FC

Issac Annor – from Bendel Insurance

The Port Harcourt based side finished second in the league at the end of 2024/25 season and will begin their campaign this season against holders, Remo Stars this weekend.

They will also participate in the CAF Champions League as Nigerian representatives alongside Remo Stars.

With this recruitment drive, Rivers United have underlined their commitment to building a competitive squad as they aim for glory in the 2025/26 NPFL campaign and continental competitions.
