Super Eagles goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke withdraws divorce case, opts for reconciliation

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria’s senior men’s national team and former Enyimba FC goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has officially withdrawn the divorce case he filed against his wife, Tosin Olorunleke, signaling a move toward reconciliation.

Ojo had earlier petitioned for divorce, citing allegations that his wife publicly accused him of infidelity.

In the course of the proceedings, the football star also admitted to committing adultery — a confession that drew significant public attention when the case first became known.

However, during the latest hearing scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, Ojo’s legal team filed a motion for withdrawal, informing the court that both parties had agreed to settle their differences amicably outside the courtroom.

In her earlier response to the petition, Confluence Queens Team Manager and Ojo’s wife, Tosin Olorunleke had pleaded with the Honourable Court not to dissolve the marriage, emphasizing her desire to keep their family together and ensure their children do not “become products of a broken home.”

The case was subsequently struck out, following Ojo’s formal request that the petition be treated “as though it was never filed,” underscoring his renewed commitment to his family.

The couple’s decision to reconcile brings an encouraging end to a matter that had attracted widespread attention among football fans and the Nigerian sporting community.
