Canadian Major League Soccer (MLS) side CF Montréal have confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward Ibrahim Sunusi following the mutual termination of his contract.
The club announced the decision in a brief statement, revealing that both parties had agreed to end their relationship.
“CF Montréal and forward Sunusi Ibrahim have mutually agreed to terminate his contract,” the statement read.
Sunusi joined the Canadian outfit after establishing himself as one of the standout strikers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). He earned widespread recognition during his time at Nasarawa United, where he emerged as one of the league’s leading scorers before securing a move to North America.
The contract termination marks the end of the Nigerian attacker’s spell with the Montreal-based club. Neither CF Montréal nor the player disclosed the reasons behind the decision or provided any indication of his next destination.
Sunusi’s exit is the latest in a series of squad changes as CF Montréal continue to reshape their roster during the ongoing MLS season.
