U20 Afcon draw: Flying Eagles to know their group opponents on Friday

The Nigeria’s U20 national team, also known as Flying Eagles will know their group opponents for the coming U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament as the draws for the tournament will hold on Friday (today) in Cairo, Egypt.
The qualified countries for the tournament are hosts Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, The Gambia, Uganda, South Sudan, Mozambique, Zambia, Central African Republic and Congo.
To qualify, the Flying Eagles were victorious among the eight countries, including Africa’s defending champions Ghana that participated at the WAFU B U-20 tournament in Niamey, Niger Republic.
Flying Eagles’ coach Ladan Bosso has been in camp with the players for the past one month before heading on a break for the yuletide.
They will resume in January when it is expected that some foreign-based players will be available to join the team for final phase of their preparation.
Bosso is optimistic about his side’s target in Egypt is to pick a World Cup ticket as his team remains unbeaten in their preparatory games.
The U20 Africa Cup of Nations will take place from 18th February to 12th March, 2023 in Egypt.
Egypt 2023 is the 17th edition of the U20 Afcon and the top four teams will qualify for the 2023 Fifa World Cup slated for Indonesia from 20th May to 11th June next year.
