David Okereke upbeat about Cremonese Serie A relegation survival

By Wale Mustapha
Nigeria striker, David Okereke remained confident of his Serie A side, Cremonese to beat the drop despite their recent defeat to Inter Milan.
Okereke registered his fifth goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat on Saturday but the loss has further stretched their search for their first win in 20 matches.
A confident striker said beating the drop will require extra commitment from both players and coaches and believes they have the quality to remain in the top-flight.
“We know that we are a team that has to suffer compactly, and if it does, it can put anyone in difficulty, but in the end, the results aren’t coming.
“But we must believe in it until the end. Is there a risk of demoralizing us? No, no.
“We are a good group, we know that there are difficult moments, but by working together we will be able to achieve the results we want” he told the club media.
“The goal? It was a great goal, but it didn’t bring any points and therefore it hurts. I saw that I was free, I turned around and put the ball where I wanted,” he concluded.
Cremonese will next be taking on Lecce in their next game.
