U20 Afcon: Egypt step up preparation for Nigeria showdown with Sudan win

Egypt skipped past Sudan 1-0 to gear up their preparation for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations where they will meet this month.
U20 AFCON host nation, Egypt got the only goal of the match through the penalty spot which was converted by Abdul Rahman Rashdan.
The four times U20 AFCON champions made their debut in 1979 and have appeared in the tournament 15 times winning it in 1981, 1991, 2003 and 2013.
The Young Pharaohs have also appeared at the U20 FIFA World Cup eight times making their debut in 1981, however, their best finish at the age grade world cup is third place in 2001.
The Egyptians will face Nigeria, Mozambique and Senegal in group A of the U20 AFCON.
Egypt will play the opening match of the U20 AFCON against Mozambique on the 19th of February 2023 at 3pm Nigeria time.
Three days later, the Young Pharaohs will square up against Nigeria on the 22nd of February 2023 at 6pm Nigeria time.
The Egyptian side will wrap up their group stage against the Senegal on 25th of February 2023 at 6pm Nigeria time.
Earlier today, the Flying Eagles jetted out of Nigeria to Egypt to face the obstacles on their road to become the champions of Africa.
