Joy Jerry makes goalscoring debut for Chinese side Changchun FC

Nigeria forward, Joy Jerry scored on her debut for Changchun FC as they recorded a 3-0 victory in the Chinese National Women’s Football Championship quarterfinal match on Friday.
The 20-year-old winger goal poacher the move to China from Edo Queens few days ago and has hit the ground running, scoring her first goal in her first appearance in Chinese football for Changchun FC.
The former Bayelsa Queens captain won the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership twice in 2018 and 2022 under the tutelage of erstwhile coach Moses Aduku.
The tricky forward was part of the 2022 Falconets squad that won their group games at the FIFA U20 World Cup before the team were eliminated by Netherlands in the quarter final.
Jerry joins the host of Nigeria players like Asisat Oshoala (Who now plays for Barcelona), Desire Oparanozie, and Chinwendu Ihezuo who’s on the books of Monterrey that have played in the Chinese Women’s League from Nigeria.
She joins the likes of Tosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran, Deborah Abiodun and Mercy Idoko her Falconets teammates who have secured moves outside the country in search of greener pastures.
Following her goalscoring debut, the former youth international will be aiming to maintain her fine start to life for Changchun as he hunt for domestic glory this season.
