NWFL Premiership MD13 Wrap: Holders Bayelsa, Edo, Confluence, Rivers qualify for Super 6

Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Edo Queens, Confluence Queens, joined Delta Queens in qualifying for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six on Wednesday.
In Osogbo, Bayelsa Queens edged Osun Babes 1-0 thanks to Zainab Olapade’s brilliant free kick in the 13th minute. The defeat condemned Osun to its first relegation in a decade, while holders win sealed their qualification.
In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels also earned a 1-0 win against Heartland Queens as Chiamaka Okwuchukwu’s 62nd-minute goal was enough to seal victory for the hosts at the Adokiye Amiemsimeka Stadium.
In Fufore, Anani Oluwaseun’s 75th-minute penalty helped Adamawa Queens to a 1-0 win over Abia Angels.
Naija Ratels and Delta Babes played out a goalless draw in Abuja as the visitors’ goalkeeper, Mgbechi Anderline saved a last-gasp penalty to deny the host a precious win.
In Lokoja, same 0-0 was recorded between Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons at the Confluence Stadium.
In the late kickoff in Benin City, Edo Queens thrashed Ibom Angels 4-0 courtesy of goals from Godwin Eunice, Abideen Suliat, and Yetunde Fajobi and Friday Esther’s own goal.
Overall, Delta Queens top Group A with 25 points and have already qualified for the Super Six alongside Bayelsa Queens (22 points), and Rivers Angels (19 points).
Naija Ratels (15 points), Heartland Queens (9 points), Royal Queens (9 points), and now relegated Osun Babes (7 points) follow in descending order.
In Group B, Edo Queens are leaders with 22 points and also qualified for the Super Six alongside Confluence Queens with 21 points.
Third placed FC Robo Queens with 19 points, two ahead of fourth placed Nasarawa Amazons (17 points), Adamawa Queens (14 points), Abia Angels (13 points), and already relegated Ibom Angels (6 points) in descending order.
