Enyimba’s Finidi George lauds officiating and seeks VAR introduction after Remo Stars draw

Head coach of Enyimba Finidi George has called for the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the Nigeria Premier Football League following some marginal errors from the match officials at the NPFL Super 6 in Lagos.
Two goals from Junior Lokosa and Nduka Junior forced the two-time African champions to 2-2 draw with Remo Stars on Saturday and the gaffer has lamented his side’s poor display in gifting the Sky Blues the comeback.
“So far, the officiating has been good this season with a lot of teams winning away matches,” Finidi told journalists.
“verall, we still have to get there maybe with the help of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which will make it more easier for the referees. Refereeing has not been bad like previous seasons.
“We have seen the problem like having some heavy legs and see how we can recover as quickly as possible. We have depth. A lot of players are giving their best. We are not quite worried about the fixtures and schedule.
“We will see how we can get some players to recover as quickly as possible. For those that didn’t play today, maybe before the end of the tournament we will see how to introduce them.
“Concentration caused us the two goals we conceded. It wasn’t like the players didn’t do their jobs. We would have done better if we had concentrated better and defended well. It was quite unfortunate.
“We will see how we can psyche the players up for the next game. It’s a tourney. We cannot lament. We drew today. We will see how we can get a win in our next game.”
The Aba base side will search for its first win of the Super Six on Monday against Lobi Stars of Makurdi.
