NPFL Super 6: Monday Odigie uninterested in Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten feat
By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Head coach of Bendel Insurance, Monday Odigie says his side’s unbeaten feat is of no consequence as he is focused on working hard to see the Benin Arsenals go all the way in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six.
Benin based outfit started its Super Six campaign with a 0-0 draw against Lobi Stars on Saturday and the draw extended Odigie’s side’s unbeaten run to 19 games this season which offered no excitement for the gaffer.
“Unbeaten run doesn’t mean anything to me. What is important to me is that as hard as this teamwork, I wish that they get rewarded,” Odigie told Brila FM.
“This team has actually been working even though they are inexperienced. For every game, we go into, we try to give our best and pray our best give us positive results at the end of the day.
“We are not looking at what people are saying. This is a young team that looks to get better by every game.”
Insurance topped Group A of the regular Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season without tasting defeat.
Up next for Odigie and his wards is its second Super Six encounter with Sunshine Stars on Monday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
