Kunle Soname confirms women’s team acquisition for Remo Stars

Remo Stars owner, Honourable Kunle Soname has revealed that the addition of a women’s team among its strings of expanding football business.
The development is in tandem with the conditions given by the Confederations of African Football (CAF) to all teams taking part in its Inter Club competitions, including Remo Stars.
Enyimba and Remo Stars are representing the country in the CAF Champions League, while Rivers United and Bendel Insurance will feature in the CAF Confederations Cup.
In a bid to meet up with CAF guidelines, Soname who doubled as the Vice Chairman of Club Owners Association of Nigeria has confirmed his side will be launching a women’s team.
“We’ve the Remo Stars Ladies who have just qualified from the amateur cadre of the league to the premier division,” Soname revealed during a meeting with the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau in Abuja on newstap.com.
“I guess many didn’t know this. Watch out for us when the new season begins as Remo Stars Ladies will be as competitive as their male counterparts and will be an example of what a female professional football team will look like.”
One of the two teams which recently gained promotion to the top-flight Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) will soon be officially unveiled as Remo Stars women team.
The identity of the team is yet to be made official as the club insists that the women’s team will be officially unveiled after the conclusion of the necessary paperwork and other documentation.
Dannaz FC Ladies and Lakeside Queens recently picked the two promotion tickets for the NWFL Premiership at the end of the 2023 NWFL Championship in Ikenne, Ogun State last week.
