UWCL: Nnadozie, Ucheibe, Famuditi, Ayinde get Champions League opponents

Nigerian quartet of Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ucheibe, Oluwakemi Famuditi, and Halimatu Ayinde will hope to join Asisat Oshoala in the group stage of the 2023/2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) as their teams now know their opponents in the final round of the qualifiers on Friday.
In the League Path, Nnadozie and her Paris FC teammmates will aim to re-enact the form which saw them eliminate English Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Arsenal in the First Round with another daunting and tough fixture against last season’s beaten finalist and former German champions, VfL Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg lost last season’s final to Oshoala’s FC Barcelona and will try to venge their anger on Paris FC in a bid to make it to the group stage once again.
In the Champions Path, Ucheibe and here Portuguese outfit, SL Benfica will meet Apollon after winning the Women’s Super Cup.
Famuditi and her Olimpia Cluj team will face Slavia Praha with a place in the group stage at stake, while For Ayinde and her Swedish side, Rosengard, Spartak Subotica awaits them.
The winners of the League and Champions Path, 12 in total will join holders, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Lyon, and Bayern Munich in the group stage.
With two Champions League titles to her name, Oshoala remained te only Nigerian player to have won the trophy with FC Barcelona.
