Borussia Dortmund working on new Bellingham deal to wade off suitors
Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are in a hurry to award midfielder Jude Bellingham a new deal so as to ward off his suitors.
There have been reports that the player is attracting interest from the Premier League with Liverpool being the frontrunner and Dortmund feels that they need to reap well from the player who joined them from Birmingham City in 2020.
Football Insider says Dortmund is worried about Liverpool’s interest in the 18-year old whose current deal expires in 2025.
The German club has also considered signing Bellingham’s 16-year-old brother, Jobe, who made his debut for Birmingham last month.
Liverpool may well be in the market for a young central midfielder come the summer, with James Milner out of contract and both Thiago and Jordan Henderson the wrong side of 30.
Apart from Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are the other teams who have been linked with the player with the former having missed out to Dortmund previously.
Bellingham only moved to Dortmund from Birmingham City in a £25m deal, and his value has since increased significantly thanks to his consistent performances.
