Crown FC boss Kunle Oyeleye calls for Nigeria National League postponement
By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
The manager of Crown FC, Kunle Oyeleye has demanded the postponement of the Nigeria National League.
The 2022/2023 NNL season is slated to start on Friday March 3 after last weekend’s Presidential and House of Assembly Elections following the draw for the NNL held virtually on Tuesday.
His demands come on the heels of the general election break of the Nigeria Premier Football League and the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership, as he stressed the motive behind his demands ahead of the governorship polls slated for March 11.
“We are looking forward to the draws which will be done virtually by God’s grace,” Oyeleye told Brilla FM.
“Considering the situation of the country, it’s even better the league is postponed till after the second election. This is for the safety of the clubs and players.”
The groupings and format for the  2022/2023 new season have been concluded in the Northern and Southern Conferences. The draw will further determine how the teams will start and end the season on a home and away basis.
The NNL fresh season is fixed to start Friday 3rd of March, 2023 at designated centres.
