Emmanuel Attah promises positive changes after landing NNL CEO job
By Saheed Afolabi
The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Emmanuel Attah is confident of the positive changes the lower league will experience under his leadership.
Attah was appointed as the CEO of the NNL in a major makeshift from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the former FCT FA chairman is eager to contribute to the growth of the NNL.
Until his appointment, Attah was a former coordinator of the Super Eagles for eight years from 2007 to 2015 and also a retired director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in August 2022.
And the FCT sports administrator has opened up on his vision and long term projections for the NNL.
“I received the news of my appointment with utmost gratitude to almighty God for his mercy upon me,” Attah told Daily Trust.
“My sincere appreciation and gratitude also go to the president of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau and members of board for the confidence they have reposed in me. It shows they believe in my ability to contribute to the development of football through the Nigeria National League board.
“On this, I want to appeal to everyone to keep their fingers crossed. After our inauguration, we would hold our inaugural meeting and then come out with a mission and vision statement for the new NNL.
“Our short and long term plans and what we hope to achieve within our given mandate would be made public. But what I can tell you is that we are not going to disappoint the NFF and Nigerians in general.
“It is an open secret that sponsorship is a big problem in Nigerian football but we would do our best to secure sponsorship for the NNL. But before then, we have to get the confidence of the clubs and other stakeholders to be able to market the league.
“How we would go about it will be revealed at the appropriate time. However, I can assure you that the NNL is not going to operate without corporate sponsors.”
