NFF endorses Gafar Liameed as Lagos State Football Association chairman

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have endorsed Gafar Liameed as the chairman of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).
The Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) conducted in Lagos by Congress members and delegates resulted in the impeachment of Fouad Oki as the LSFA chairman and the unanimously approval of Gafar as the new chairman of the age long football association.
The NFF expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the EGA which were in cognizance of the statutes guiding the LSFA.
The Glass House formally recognized Gafar as the substantive Lagos FA chairman as it awaits the election of a new vice chairman.
“Your letter conveying the outcome of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Lagos State Football Association held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday, 23 March ao24 refers.
“I have the directive of the President of Nigeria Football Federation and the Executive Committee of the NFF to congratulate you on a successful EGA and to express satisfaction that the EGA has been conducted in consonance with the provisions of the Statutes of the Lagos State Football Associations.
“Further, I am pleased to inform you that the NFF has decided to fully recognise Hajj Liameed Gafar as the Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, as part of the outcomes of the EGA.
“The NFF equally awaits the outcome of the LSFA executive meeting scheduled for the next few days to elect a new vice chairman for the LSFA.
“We believe that the new Lagos State FA leadership will re-position the game of football in the State and re-engineer the development of the game with intentional inclusiveness and active support of all stakeholders.”
