Akwa United right back, Samuel Ganda says the Promise Keepers will be heading to Kaduna for Nigeria Premier Football League clash with Niger Tornadoes with the aim of snatching victory.
Ganda joined Akwa United in the summer from Bayelsa United and has been an instant hit with the Uyo based club, having featured in all nine games so far.
With his 10th outing on the horizon, the former Rivers United and Remo Stars’ full back insists his side are well motivated to go for the win against the Ikon Allah Boys at Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
“Our victory last weekend has really inspired us to go for more wins. There is no doubt that we are here in Kaduna to fight for another three points,” Ganda told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“I’m proud to say that the mood in the camp is very lively and encouraging and we have been well motivated by the leadership of the club, so we have to reciprocate that gesture by giving our 100% on the pitch.
“Our current position in the table is not good enough and we have to pick ourselves up and fight for points in all our matches to ensure we move out of the danger zone.
“We know that the match with Niger Tornadoes will be a tough game because they are also having a difficult start to the season but we are fully prepared and determined to go into the game with a positive mindset,” Ganda told the club’s media department.
History favours Akwa United in this fixture as the 2021 champions have recorded seven victories and suffered three loses in ten meetings against Niger Tornadoes.
The Promise Keepers who are 17th on the log are two places and two points above Niger Tornadoes. The Uyo based club have won each of their last five games against this weekend’s opponents and will be aiming to stretch the run.
