Sevilla Coach Pimienta Remains Hopeful for Adams’ Return This Season

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Garcia Pimienta, the head coach of Sevilla, expresses optimism that Jerome Adams will still participate in matches for the club before the season concludes.

Adams suffered a thigh injury during Sevilla’s 2-1 loss at home to Atletico Madrid last weekend.

Initially, it was believed that the Nigeria international would be out for the remainder of the season.

However, Pimienta is confident that the striker will be able to return to the field before the season ends.

“It has been a challenging week, following three consecutive losses, but the team is eager to change this situation. Unfortunately, we faced the additional setback of injuries to Akor and Vargas, along with Tanguy’s long-term injury, but the players are determined to improve our circumstances,” Pimienta stated on the club’s official website.

“I feel deeply for Akor and Rubén. It appears they will be unavailable for several weeks, and we will have to see if they can return in time for the season’s conclusion, depending on their recovery progress.

“The most unfortunate situation for a player is to be injured, as it prevents them from contributing to the team.”

Adams transferred to Sevilla from Ligue 1 side Montpellier in January.

The 25-year-old has participated in four league matches for the Rojiblancos.
