INEOS and OGC Nice owner Jim Ratcliffe has issued a statement amid rumors of a bid to land the Blues for sale.
In this press release, the owner of the Riviera club assures that he wishes to continue to take care of Nice, while confirming that he wants to seize Chelsea, put up for sale by Roman Abramovich: “The Ineos group confirms that it has made an offer for the acquisition of the Chelsea club. We don’t know for the moment if we will succeed in our approach, but we want to reassure everyone involved in OGC Nice. This in no way diminishes our commitment to the Gym” is it written. The British billionaire then confirmed that he wanted to see his club, OGC Nice, soon triumph in the final of the Coupe de France: “I live close to Nice and I remain totally immersed and committed to the success of the club. And I am delighted that, under the guidance of Christophe (Galtier), we have reached the final of the Cup (of France). I will be there with the ambition that we lift this trophy. (…) I want to see us play in the European Cup next season, and I can assure you that we will continue to take care of the club and its future.”
According to information from the British media, quoted by RMCit is the American Todd Boehly, co-owner of the Dodgers franchise, who is the favorite for the takeover of the London club.
