Nigeria international Victor Osimhen marked his European debut for Galatasaray with a sensational brace, leading the Turkish side to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League.

The match, played at the Türk Telekom Stadium, got off to a fast start with Yunus Akgun putting Galatasaray ahead just six minutes into the contest. However, Tottenham responded quickly, with Lankshear leveling the score at 1-1 in the 18th minute.

Osimhen then took center stage, capitalizing on a defensive mistake to put the hosts back in front. The Nigerian international reacted swiftly to a pass from Dries Mertens, guiding a right-footed shot past Spurs goalkeeper Fraser Forster to give Galatasaray a 2-1 lead.

The reigning African Player of the Year was far from done as moments later, he expertly finished a precise cross from Mertens, turning the ball into the net with an unmarked strike from eight yards to extend Galatasaray’s lead to 3-1.

Osimhen’s two-goal performance was a landmark moment in his European journey, as he scored his first-ever goals in European competition for the Turkish giants. The 25-year-old was substituted shortly after, but his impact was undeniable.

Tottenham’s night was further complicated when Lankshear was shown a second yellow card, leaving the visitors with 10 men for the final stages of the match. Despite a late goal from Dominic Solanke, who tapped in a pass from Pedro Porro to reduce the deficit, it wasn’t enough to prevent Galatasaray from securing all three points.

Osimhen’s brace took his tally for the season to seven goals and five assists in all competitions, solidifying his reputation as one of the most in-form strikers in Europe. With his performances continuing to impress, the Nigerian forward is quickly becoming a key figure for Galatasaray this season.
