Yemi Olanrewaju hails Enyimba’s brilliant start to new NPFL season

Head Coach of Enyimba FC, Yemi Olanrewaju has emphasized the importance of his side’s good start to 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season.
The People’s Elephants recorded a commanding 3-1 win over Oriental rivals Heartland in the opening day encounter at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday.
A brace from Clinton Jephta and the other from Ifeanyi Ihemekwele canceled out an early lead from Hammed Suraju for the Naze Millionaires.
The former MFM coach who praised his team for their spirited comeback urged them to keep the momentum as the league is filled with many games.
“Big win for us, great performance from the lads, though we didn’t start well but the response was good.
“It is important we start on a good note. 37 games more as this one is done and dusted,” Yema as Olanrewaju is fondly called stated in a post match briefing.
Enyimba FC’s next challenge is a trip to Mali to face Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the CAF Confederation Cup 2nd preliminary round.
