Ahead of the final showdown at the African Games, Head Coach of the Ghana U20 women’s national team, Yusif Basigi, has disclosed his team’s strategies to overcome Nigeria’s Falconets.

The Black Princesses are gearing up for a chance to seek redemption for a series of defeats against their perennial rivals, Nigeria, as they prepare to face off at the Cape Coast Stadium at 9 pm.

Despite the Falconets’ flawless record leading up to the final, winning all three of their games and conceding no goals, Coach Basigi remains confident in his team’s abilities to emerge victorious.

Acknowledging the strength and technical prowess of the Nigerian side, Basigi emphasized his team’s preparedness and adaptability, drawing on their experiences overcoming strong opponents like Uganda and Senegal earlier in the tournament.

“We vary our games, and with the strength of the Nigerians, I think Uganda and Senegal are equally strong, but we overcame them,” Basigi stated during a press conference.

He further emphasized his familiarity with facing Nigerian teams, having previously encountered the Super Falcons during his tenure as the head coach of the Black Queens.

A win for Nigeria in the final would secure their defense of the gold medal, which they clinched in the previous edition held in Morocco in 2019.
