Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, is eagerly anticipating Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

Having played a pivotal role in the team’s campaign at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he scored three goals, the 26-year-old is pleased to reunite with his teammates. He emphasized the significance of elevating their performance levels in friendly matches.

Lookman, who was part of the squad that lost the 2022 World Cup ticket to Ghana, recognizes the rivalry’s intensity and the importance of securing victories against such opponents.

“It’s an opportunity for us to once again demonstrate the level we are as a team, reflecting on our performance at the AFCON and the standard that is expected of us,” stated the winger after training in Marrakech on Wednesday.

“With the same group of players and some new faces in the squad, we are delighted to be back together and ready to represent Nigeria.”
