2024 Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament enters quarter-final stage

The stage is set for the last eight after the conclusion of the group stage of the 2024 Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament (BOWFT) in Benin City.

Six teams from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership qualified for the quarter-final.

They are hosts, Edo Queens, Abia Angels, Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Remo Stars Ladies, and Heartland Queens.

Fortress Ladies is the only team from the second-tier women’s league (NWFL Championship) remaining in the tournament. Benin Republic side, Espoir, completes the quarter-final lineup.

Four teams from the Nigeria women’s football top flight, Edo Queens, Abia Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, and Remo Stars Ladies will square up.

Bayelsa Queens will face Fortress Ladies while Heartland Queens are up against Espoir FC.

Edo Queens won the last edition against Bayelsa Queens and is using the tournament to prepare for this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League after winning the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) tournament.
