Ahudiyannem FC Shock Abia Warriors, Set Sights on Federation Cup Final Glory

Ahudiyannem FC have sent a strong message ahead of the Abia State President Federation Cup final after eliminating Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Abia Warriors in a dramatic semi-final encounter.

The Abiriba-based NLO side stunned their more illustrious opponents, holding them to a goalless draw before sealing a 4–3 victory on penalties on Wednesday.

The result marks the fifth time Ahudiyannem FC have defeated Abia Warriors since the club’s formation, further underlining their growing reputation as giant killers.

Speaking after the match, club president Chief Robert Onyeani, popularly known as Roco expressed confidence in his team’s chances heading into Sunday’s final. He declared that his side would approach the game without fear, insisting they have what it takes to secure another title.

“We’re fully prepared for the finals holding on Sunday. Last year, we knocked out Enyimba FC from the FA Cup before going on to defeat Abia Warriors to lift the trophy. We are ready to repeat that feat,” Onyeani said.

The club’s momentum is further boosted by the success of its female team, which has also booked a place in the final, highlighting a strong overall showing for Ahudiyannem FC across competitions.

Onyeani, known for his hands-on approach to team management, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting both squads with the necessary logistics and financial incentives. His backing, he believes, will continue to position the club as a formidable force in Nigerian football.

With confidence high and history on their side, Ahudiyannem FC now turn their focus to Sunday’s final, where they aim to cap their impressive run with silverware once again.
