AFCON 2023: Nigeria to open camp on January 2 in Abu Dhabi

The Nigeria Football Federation have concluded plans to open camp for the country’s senior men’s national team on January 2nd ahead of African Cup of Nations, AFCON taking place in Ivory Coast, nigeriafootball.ng reports.
The Super Eagles have been paired in tough group alongside host nation, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea for the tournament.
Nigerian will be gunning for their fourth AFCON title haven won the tournament in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
Inside sources from the federation have it that the camp will be open officially on Tuesday 2nd of January, 2024 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, UAE.
Selected players of Super Eagles are expected to start arriving camp from Monday, 1st day of the year 2024 in preparation for the training camp.
Nigeria will open the tournament on January 16th against Equatorial Guinea.
