Emmanuel Adebayor backs Victor Osimhen to replicate Didier Drogba feat in England

By Monsurah Olatunji

Famous Togo national team captain, Emmanuel Adebayor, has openly expressed his desire to see Victor Osimhen move and succed in the Premier League.
Not only has the Super Eagles star been compared to Didier Drogba on many occasions, but he never missed any opportunity to call the former Blues his role model.
The Ivorian featured 186 times for Mourinho’s Blues over two spells, scoring 73 goals and providing 38 assists en route to three Premier League titles as Drogba’s legacy includes not just winning the Premier League titles, but also FA Cup victories, and a Champions League triumph.
Adebayor had his stints at Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City, and has also played against Drogba at both club and country level, believes Osimhen has what it takes to build a similar legacy as his role model in the Premier League.
“He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there (in England),” he told BBC.
“I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of. The Premier League is the toughest and best (league) in the world. Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy.
“I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things. He has all it takes to make a name and write a great chapter in England like Drogba.”
