Paris 2024 Olympics: Desire Oparanozie confident of Nigeria’s success in France
By Wale Mustapha
Former Nigeria international Desire Oparanozie has thrown herself behind Super Falcons to achieve success at the forthcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Nigeria qualified for the mundial at the expense of South Africa on 1-0 aggregate after two leg encounters.
Randy Waldrum’s side will face world champions Spain, Japan and Brazil in Group C at the Olympic Games.
Oparanozie is adamant that the Falcons will shine at the global showpiece, despite the pedigree of the opposition in the group.
“It’s a tough group, Spain are world champions, Japan were previous world champions and Brazil are a household name in the game,” Oparanozie said in an interview monitored on radio.
“But I believe in the team, we will do well at the Olympics, the girls will show what they are made up, they will make themselves proud.”
The Super Falcons will start the Paris 2024 campaign against Brazil.
