Bayelsa Deputy Governor Unveils Five-Man Interim Committee to Oversee Bayelsa United

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Akpe, has announced the appointment of a five-man interim committee to oversee the affairs of Bayelsa United Football Club for the next six months.

Dr. Akpe made the announcement during his address at the Prosperity Cup event held this morning, stating that the committee will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the club during the interim period.

The committee comprises:

Chairman: Dr. Peter Singabele
Member: Sir Braveman Wodi
Member: Mr. Godson Ekarde
Member: Mr. Ono K. Akpe
Secretary: Mr. Ken Akpolaemi Odogu

The newly constituted committee is expected to manage the club’s affairs and work towards strengthening Bayelsa United over the six-month assignment.

The recent transition came after the Yenegoa based side were relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of 2025/26 season.

They aim to make an instant return to the top flight.
