Maduka Okoye expresses happiness with fresh Super Eagles call up

Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed his delight at being called up to the Super Eagles squad once again.
The Udinese shot-stopper has been named in Nigeria’s 23-man list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic next month.
The 24-year-old had not been included in the national team since the friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique last November.
Now, he is eager to represent the three-time African champions once more.
“I am very happy to return to the national team. It is a great honor for me and my family to play for Nigeria,” Okoye told Udinese’s official website.
The Super Eagles will host Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7, before traveling to Abidjan for the clash against the Squirrels of Benin three days later.
