Green Lock FC Unveils Summer Youth Tournament
The management of Green Lock FC has announced the hosting of a summer football tournament in July aimed at providing talented young football players with the opportunity to advance to the next level.
The Green Lock FC Summer Football Tournament will take place from July 19th to 23rd at the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
During a virtual media parley on Wednesday, the Executive Vice Chairman of Green Lock FC, Olufunsho Peters, highlighted that the tournament exemplifies the club’s commitment to revolutionizing football recruitment in Nigeria through the use of technology and data.
The event will feature FIFA-recognized club officials and agents from Europe and the Middle East who will be scouting for exceptional talents.
The tournament will feature invited teams selected based on criteria such as age (16–19 years), their track records in their respective leagues, and the quality of their management. These teams align with Green Lock FC’s developmental and business ideology.
Chief Operating Officer of Nationwide League One, Mr. Olusola Ogunnowo, also attended the parley, commending Green Lock FC for its passion and innovation in the Nigerian football landscape.
Ogunnowo assured that the NLO would continue to provide technical and administrative support for Green Lock FC and its initiatives. Additionally, Sofascore, a partner of the league, will offer real-time updates of the tournament globally.
