Governor Fubara Approves Free Entry for Rivers United’s Title-Deciding Clash Against Katsina United

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved free entry for supporters attending Rivers United’s final match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season against Katsina United.

The decisive Matchday 38 fixture is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.

In a bid to encourage massive support for the club, the governor, through the Rivers State Ministry of Sports, directed that fans be granted free access to the stadium for the crucial encounter.

The state government will also provide free shuttle bus services from designated locations across Port Harcourt to ease transportation for supporters heading to the stadium.

The buses will begin assembling from 12:30 p.m., while departure for the venue is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Mile 1 by Education Bus Stop

Rivers United head into the final game of the season with a chance to secure the NPFL title. A victory over Katsina United, combined with a favourable result involving Ikorodu City in Lagos, could see the Port Harcourt club crowned league champions.

The club has urged football fans and residents across Rivers State to come out in large numbers and support the team in what could become a historic day for both the club and the state.
