Nigerian Stars Regina Otu and Flourish Sabastine Celebrate Historic First League Title with Fenerbahçe Women

Nigerian duo Regina Otu and Flourish Sabastine have celebrated their first league titles as Fenerbahçe Women were crowned champions of the Turkcell Women’s Football Super League, sealing the triumph with an emphatic 8–0 victory over Ünye Women’s Sports Club.

Fenerbahçe had already secured the league on matchday 28, following a dominant 7–0 win over Giresun Sanayispor, before officially lifting the trophy in front of their home fans at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex. This victory marked a historic milestone for the club, as it was their first-ever women’s league title.

Both Otu and Sabastine played key roles in the title-clinching match. Otu controlled the midfield with composure and energy, while teenage forward Sabastine impressed once more with her lively attacking play.

The champions were relentless from the start. Busem Şeker opened the scoring in the 28th minute, followed by Maria Alves four minutes later, giving Fenerbahçe a comfortable half-time lead. The scoring spree continued after the break, with İpek Kaya, Andrea Staskova, Yağmur Uraz, Cansu Gürel, and Şeker all finding the net to complete the 8–0 rout.

Fenerbahçe capped off a dominant season, finishing with 26 wins, two draws, and just one defeat in 29 matches. The team scored an impressive 131 goals while conceding only eight. Their campaign will conclude with a final fixture against Fatih Vatan Spor.

With the league title secured, Fenerbahçe Women have also qualified for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, giving Otu and Sabastine the opportunity to cap a breakthrough season with European football.
