Champions League: Ogunmodede prepares Remo Stars for AS FAR challenge in Rabat

By Wale Mustapha

Remo Stars’ Head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, is focused on securing advancement to the next round of the CAF Champions League as his team prepares for the second leg against AS FAR.

The Sky Blue Stars emerged with a narrow 2-1 victory over the Moroccan side in the first leg of the preliminary round held in Ikenne on Sunday.

Remo Stars’ captain, Nduka Junior, and Sodiq Ismail scored for the Nigerian team, while Joel Beya netted AS FAR’s lone goal.

The decisive second leg will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Sunday and Ogunmodede emphasizes that improved performance and dedication will be crucial for his team’s success.

“We are anticipating a challenging atmosphere and potential tactics from our opponents, both on and off the pitch,” Ogunmodede said in a recent video posted on the club’s X account.

“Our team is accustomed to such situations and we are fully prepared. We have strategies in place and are ready to confront them head-on.”

He added, “To progress, we must enhance our attack and finishing. We are not going to Rabat to play defensively; we will go there with the intention of advancing.”

Remo Stars will be looking to capitalize on their slender advantage and secure a place in the next round of the prestigious tournament.
