Caykur Rizespor has announced the release of Azubuike Okechukwu, with the decision being made by mutual consent.

The former Nigeria U23 captain, who played 14 matches during his single season with the club, has now parted ways with Rizespor.

In their official statement, Rizespor expressed their gratitude to Okechukwu for his contributions, saying: “We parted ways with our professional football player Azubuike by mutual agreement.

“We would like to thank Okechukwu Godson Azubuike for his contributions to our team and wish him success in his future career.”

At 27 years old, Okechukwu has had a substantial career in Turkey, having previously played for Sivasspor, Istanbul Basaksehir, and Yeni Malatyaspor.

His departure from Rizespor marks the end of his latest chapter in Turkish football.
