Edo Queens unveil 21-player roster for 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League

Head coach of Nigeria champions, Edo Queens, Moses Aduku has unveiled his squad for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League kicking off this weekend.

The 2024 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) champions has summoned 21 players for the task of becoming the first Nigerian team to win the tournament.

Three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and six forwards made the roster.

Headlining the squad is Anjor Mary who was part of Bayelsa Queens team which reached the semi final of the 2022 edition winning the bronze medal in the process.

That was Nigeria’s best performance at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Former Bayelsa Queens goalie, Monle Omino Oyono also made the cut alongside WAFU-B top goal scorer, Emem Essien and league top goal scorer, Folashade Ijamilusi.

The team will start their campaign against Commerical Bank of Ethiopia FC on Sunday.

They will also face FC Masar (Egypt) and holders, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa) in Group B.
