After 439 days sidelined by an ACL injury, Super Falcons defender Nicole Payne has finally returned to the pitch.

Payne made her debut for her new club, Orlando Pride, coming off the bench in the 66th minute against Washington Spirit.

The comeback marks a significant milestone for the Nigerian defender, who endured a long and challenging recovery period.

Her return is a major boost for both Orlando Pride and the Super Falcons ahead of WAFCON.

Speaking after the match, Payne reflected on her journey: “439 days… I feel super lucky and blessed to be back. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been the most rewarding.”
