Nigerian forward Akor Adams has officially completed his move to Spanish La Liga side Sevilla after a successful stint at Montpellier.

The 24-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, with Sevilla securing his signature for a reported €5.5 million.

Adams was unveiled by the club in a statement shared on social media, where Sevilla announced, “An agreement has been reached with Montpellier HSC for the signing of Akor Adams.”

The striker arrives at Sevilla after a productive season in France, where he played 15 matches for Montpellier, contributing three goals and three assists.

In his debut season with the French club, Adams made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing two assists.

With the move, Adams becomes the third Nigerian player at Sevilla, joining Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho in the squad. He was present during Sevilla’s 1-1 draw with RCD Espanyol in a La Liga match on Saturday.

Although he has not yet made his debut for the Super Eagles, Adams has represented Nigeria at youth level, featuring twice for the U-20 team during the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.

Expressing excitement about his new journey, Adams discussed the competition in Sevilla’s attack and his ambition to contribute to the team’s success in the league.

“I’m a complete striker who wants to help. I’m going to give it my all and you’ll see and define me when I start playing,” Adams told the club’s official website.

“I can’t talk about my teammates because they are giving their all. I’m here to help and to be ready for the coach.”
