#OneHumanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026 Postponed Due to Environmental Factors

Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) has agreed to postpone the #OneHumanity International Beach Soccer Cup Ghana 2026, following a request from local promoter Nasco Feeding Minds. New dates will be confirmed and announced as soon as possible.
After extensive assessments in recent days, organisers concluded that the event cannot take place on the originally scheduled dates due to environmental challenges affecting Laboma Beach, the planned venue.
A recent tidal surge and coastal erosion have significantly impacted the specific area of the beach designated for the competition. Since becoming aware of the situation, organisers have explored multiple solutions, including emergency reinforcement measures, monitoring sea conditions, and evaluating alternative venues in and around Accra.
Despite these efforts, there has been insufficient time to secure a suitable alternative location and complete all necessary operational requirements — including permits, infrastructure, and event setup — to meet the high standards expected of an international beach soccer tournament.
The decision was based on the technical and operational requirements unique to hosting an event of this scale. Certain sections of Laboma Beach feature permanent structures that limit usable space, and the competition zone, historically used for beach soccer, is the area affected by erosion. As a result, organisers cannot currently guarantee the safety, quality, and delivery standards required.
BSWW and Nasco Feeding Minds acknowledge the dedication and preparation of all participating teams and stakeholders. Every effort is being made to minimise the impact of this unforeseen situation.
Both organisations remain fully committed to the tournament and will continue to evaluate next steps, including rescheduling, once conditions allow.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank everyone for their understanding, patience, and continued support,” the organisers said.
