Nigerian winger Nathan Tella has been named Bayer Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month for January after his stunning strike helped secure a 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Tella triumphed in the club’s poll, beating strong contenders including Alejandro Grimaldo, Florian Wirtz, and Patrick Schick.
The 25-year-old’s award-winning goal came when he unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, following a brilliant assist from Robert Andrich.
This is Tella’s first time winning the accolade since joining Bayer Leverkusen.
So far this season, he has made 17 league appearances for Xabi Alonso’s side, with his goal in the Dortmund match being the standout moment.
