Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Champions, Rangers International FC emerged winners of the 2025 Enugu State FA Cup.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side defeated Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit Ijele FC 3-0 to win the title at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Saturday.
Daniel Onyia broke the deadlock for the Flying Antelopes in the 33rd minute as he fired home from a distance of 30 meters.
After the interval, Rangers doubled the lead as Michael Uchebo made it 2-0.
Onyia bagged his brace in the 67th minute with a long-range shot, which took a deflection into the back of the net.
“It was a great match not because we won but because of the quality display from our opponent,” coach Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu said after the match.
“We came prepared to win and we won. We give all glory to God. We never panicked when the goals did not start to rain early but quietly worked our way through and the result is there to show.
“I believe we have the quality to take us to the national trophy,” He concluded.
Both finalists will represent Enugu State at the 2025 President Federation Cup.
