Rumour Mills: MLS side Charlotte signs Nigerian forward Emmanuel Uchegbu from AS Trencin

Nigerian forward Emmanuel Uchegbu has completed a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Charlotte FC from Slovakian club AS Trencin.

The 20-year-old winger has signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Uchegbu joins Charlotte FC after making 30 appearances for AS Trencin, where he scored five goals and provided two assists in his time with the Slovakian side.

Expressing his excitement over the move, Uchegbu thanked AS Trencin for the opportunities that helped him grow as a player and for their unwavering support throughout his career.

“I am very grateful to AS Trenčín for the opportunity it gave me as a young player,” Uchegbu said.

“I must express my immense gratitude to the coaches, the management team, all the employees, and, last but not least, the fans of AS Trenčín. You have been my support throughout my entire career. I will miss you, my friends.”

Uchegbu’s move to Charlotte FC marks the next chapter in his career as he aims to make an impact in the United States’ top-tier league.
