Venue: Casablanca

Competition: 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations – Group B, final group stage match

Result: Draw (0–0)

Key Highlights:

Super Falcons (Nigeria) made eight changes to the starting lineup, clearly aiming to rest key players for the upcoming quarter-final against Zambia.

Despite the changes, Francisca Ordega stood out with an energetic performance. She created the best chances of the game, including: a dangerous cross before halftime that led to a blocked attempt by Ifeoma Onumonu.

A clever pass to Rasheedat Ajibade, who was double-teamed before she could shoot.

Jennifer Echegini and Esther Okoronkwo had late efforts, but Algeria’s tight defense and inspired goalkeeping by Chloe N’gazi Boumrar kept Nigeria at bay.

Algeria’s Achievement

The Lady Fennecs earned their first-ever quarter-final berth in the tournament’s history — a massive achievement.
