Samuel Chukwueze included in AC Milan preseason squad amid exit speculation

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

AC Milan have announced their squad for the upcoming preseason tour, which includes matches against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Perth Glory—surprisingly featuring Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, despite ongoing speculation over a potential summer exit.

Chukwueze, who joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in 2023 for a fee of €20 million plus bonuses, has struggled to find form since his arrival.

Reports in Italy and Spain have linked the Super Eagles forward with a return to La Liga, with Mallorca emerging as a potential destination.

Although included in the traveling party, Chukwueze’s presence does not rule out a move away from San Siro this summer.

Milan are reportedly open to offers in the region of €13 million, a significant reduction from his original transfer fee. The winger currently earns a reported €4 million per season.

AC Milan will kick off their tour in Singapore, followed by stops in Hong Kong and Perth, Australia.

The Serie A giants will face Premier League opposition in Arsenal and Liverpool, before wrapping up the trip with a clash against A-League side Perth Glory.

The tour is seen as a vital component of Milan’s preparations for the upcoming campaign, offering a platform for tactical fine-tuning while also expanding the club’s global footprint.
