Flamingos thrash Nazareth Angels again in World Cup build-up

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team continued their flawless run in friendly matches with a 5-0 victory over Nazareth Angels at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja, on Friday.

It was their second 5-0 win over the same opponents this month underlining their sharpness ahead of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The goals came early and late, with Queen Joseph netting a quick-fire brace in the 3rd and 20th minutes.

Praise Agba added a third in the 33rd minute before Mariam Yahaya (75’) and Chisom Nwachukwu (83’) completed the rout in the second half.

The result means the Flamingos have now won all seven of their preparatory matches, scoring 22 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.

Coach Bankole Olowookere’s side will return to action on Sunday for another tune-up match as preparations intensify for Morocco 2025.
