Efe Aghama scores first Cádiz goal as Nigerian prospect impresses in defeat

By Dayo Awoniyi

Former Bendel Insurance prodigy Aghama Efe reached a key career milestone on Sunday, scoring his first goal for Cádiz FC in their 2–1 loss to Cultural Leonesa in a tightly contested LaLiga 2 encounter.

The lively winger needed just 12 minutes to make his mark, coolly finishing to open the scoring and showcasing the confidence and maturity he has steadily developed since making the move to Spain.

Efe remained a constant threat throughout the first half, gliding past defenders, stretching the backline, and injecting pace and creativity into Cádiz’s attack.

His vibrant display stood out as one of the team’s brightest sparks before he was substituted at halftime as part of a tactical reshuffle.

His withdrawal shifted the rhythm of the match, with the visitors eventually overturning the deficit to secure all three points.

Efe’s debut goal underscores the growing promise surrounding the Nigerian youngster, who continues to adapt to Spanish football following his development in Bendel Insurance’s youth ranks and brief spell with the senior team.
