Oparanozie: Nigeria striker celebrates title-winning debut season with Wuhan in China

Former captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons forward Desire Oparanozie has expressed delight for helping her Chinese club Wuhan Jiangda claimed the Super League title on Friday.
Wuhan Jiangda went into the final match of the season with high hopes of winning the league with points accrued in the season in focus.
Wuhan eventually lost the game to Jiangsu Wuxi by a lone goal scored by Ziqin Shao with 15 minutes to end the game.
The energetic attacker joined the Chinese Super League side last summer from the French Women League, Dijon.
Oparanozie played an active role this season as Wuhan finished on top of the table gathering 45 points from 18 games.
The former captain of Super Falcons took to her Twitter page to expressed her delight over the title and excellent season she’s had.
“Behold your Chinese Women’s Super League Champion What A Year! Proud”, she said.
The 28 year old suited up for Guingamp, Wolfsburg, Rossiyanka, Delta Queens and Bayelsa Queens as her previous clubs.
Earlier in July, the Nigeria international won her first title in China as her team, Wuhan Jianghan FC secured the Chinese Cup before completing the double this November.
