If the latest information coming from former members of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF is anything to go by, future of Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro may soon come under serious questioning.
It was learned that Peseiro was interviewed for the top job of the Super Eagles along with other top coaches including Phillip Cocu, Laurent Blanc and Ernesto Valverde.
One of the former exco members of the federation said the Portuguese was not the best among the interviewed coaches but was picked as most affordable considering the federation’s financial strength.
“He wasn’t the best after the interview we had with other coaches but his demands was the one that suits our budget,” source disclosed to OwngoalNigeria.
“I must admit that we know he’s not the best but he’s the most affordable and you know we already had an agreement with him which we didn’t honor previously, all those played a part in his appointment,” he said.

Nigeria have also engaged in four friendly matches which ended in defeats. The latest 4-0 loss to Portugal was the heaviest defeat of Super Eagles in the last decade.
The most worrying about the defeats is how the team is playing and approach to those games, a far cry from what the Portuguese promised when given the job.
That has been raising questions from soccer enthusiasts in Nigeria about whether the new NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau may need to review Peseiro’s contracts.
