Michelle Alozie: Super Falcons star extends deal with NWSL outfit Houston Dash

United States of America (USA) National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit, Houston Dash has extended the contract of Super Falcons forward, Michelle Alozie.

The club announced the extension of the forward deal which will see her stay with the team through to 2024 season

Alozie scored two goals in ten games for Houston Dash during the 2022 NWSL regular season and she helped her team qualify for the NWSL Playoff for the first time in the club’s history.

Houston Dash finished the 2022 NWSL Regular season in fourth place with 36 points after 22 games which sealed a playoff spot.

“Michelle grew tremendously in her role for us in 2022. She stepped up in high-pressure circumstances and proved to us she was up for the task in each situation,” Dash general manager Alex Singer said on the Houston Dash website.

Alex speaking further on Alozie, said: “The energy she brings when she steps on the field is electrifying. Her speed and ability to threaten on the attack in addition to the defensive work she commits to through her relentless pressure on the opposition are what makes her important.

“It is exciting as we know the potential that she has, and I look forward to seeing her development and impact over the next two years.”

The Apple Valley, California native represented Nigeria at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2022) in Morocco where Super Falcons qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“To start of my professional career [here], it’s just been really nice and welcoming,” she continued.

“The team has been really cool to me. Now, obviously, there’s been a lot of changes, but I feel like just the core of the team has been a major factor of me like wanting to stay.”

The extension of Alozie’s contract increased the number of Houston Dash’s players under contract to 16.
