To keep Heartland Queens survival hopes alive, Heartland Queens trusted safe hands, Uchechi Onyechere is hopeful and determined to keep a clean sheet against the rampaging Rivers Angels army at the Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri.
The Owerri Queens have recorded just a point away to NWFL Premiership defending champions, Bayelsa Queens in Yenagoa and are focused in getting not just a clean sheet but a win to wrap it up in an emphatic way.
The Heartland goal custodian said she will jealousy safeguard her goal area and make sure no goal was scored against her.
“I’m going to jealously guide my territory to ensure no shot from the opponents enters into my own net,” Onyechere told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“I need 100% clean sheet in all matches going forward, I want to be counting my clean sheets match after match until I reach the 12 games.
“I have already counted one clean sheet against reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens and tomorrow (Wednesday) I’m going to count clean sheet number two, three and on and on because the target is eight, nine clean sheets.
“I need the clean sheets badly in order to further boost my record of emerging the best safe hands at the end of league season.
“I’m excited this fixture is coming at this time of the season as I have been waiting patiently for the clash. I believe we are going to win convincingly notwithstanding the opponents’ profile as several champions.”
It will spell doom for Heartland Queens if they drop points against Rivers Angels as they set their sights on staying afloat in the NWFL Premiership this season.
And Onyechere believes their spirited performance away to Bayelsa Queens will motivate them to give their all to claim victory against Rivers Angels.
“We are Heartland Queens and the clash is happening at our home ground and we will claim the three points at stake,” she continued.
“It would be doom for us to drop points at home and we want to join the ranks of teams with wins in the league.
“We showed class in the last match in 2022 against the giants, champions and Africa’s third best, Bayelsa Queens, we are more than ever determined to continue the giant stride against Rivers Angels.”
